CORE SITES

Our core sites are in Ghana, India, Nepal, Peru and Vietnam. We install DynaMed and conduct an extensive training of healthcare providers using the “Train the Trainer” model. We also collect data from our Core Sites and confirm improvement in correct medical decision-making. We continually communicate with our Core Sites to monitor their usage and experience with the medical software.

GHANA

2020

KidsCareEverywhere went to Ghana for the first time and conducted tainings at two hospitals - Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, Ghana and Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi, Ghana.  Our team trained over 200 doctors on this trip.  Doctors at all three locations were enthusiastic and eager to incorporate DynaMed into their everyday practice.  We look forward to continuing these important partnerships in Ghana with a very competent and passionate base of doctors.

INDIA

2019

KidsCareEverywhere conducted its largest mission yet to Amritsar, India.  Trainings were conducted at two hospitals - Hospital Sri Guru RamDas Medical Research and Training School, a private hospital in Amritsar, and Hospital Government Medical College, the public hospital in Amritsar.  In total, 487 doctors were trained.  Doctors at both locations were enthusiastic and eager to incorporate PEMSoft into their everyday practice.  To facilitate this, KCE Global Health Fellow, Dr. Amarinder Singh was left on the ground to continue training and coordination of PEMSoft into the hospital infrastructure.  We look forward to continuing these important partnerships in India with a very competent and passionate base of doctors.

NEPAL

2019

Hospital: Patan Academy of Health Sciences, Kathmandu Nepal

KidsCareEverywhere went to Nepal in January, 2019.  Eighty-six doctors were trained in four sessions.  Among them were 27 Residents, 43 Interns, and 15 Attending Physicians.  Several new graduates (who would be posted in rural districts where they would be the only doctor) advised that having DynaMed Plus as a resource greatly increased their confidence. Some doctors were not able to attend in person because of distance, so for the first time KCE offered remote training. The hospital administrators are so enthusiastic about DynaMed Plus that they requested that KCE provide training remotely every year to 50 medical students. This new model is under consideration.  

PERU

2019

Hospital: Hospital Iquitos and Hospital Regional de Loreto (Iquitos, Peru), and Collegio Medico (Lima, Peru)

Dr. Ron Dieckmann led this mission to Peru. The mission had multiple objectives. Dr. Dieckmann was a featured speaker at the VIII Congreso Nacional e Internatcional de Medicina de Emergencias y Desastres global conference in Lima, where he presented the history and goals of KidsCareEverywhere in dissemination of medical knowledge in the low income world through medical software. The team then traveled to the Amazon basin to the remote town of Iquitos to train doctors in two hospitals along the Amazon River.

Dr. Andrea Dreyfuss, Dr. Elaine Yang and KCE Program Director, Bianca Maron conducted seven days of training at four different hospitals and one medical school in Lima, Peru.  KCE has been to Hospital Nacional Cayetano Heredia and Hospital Nacional Dos de Mayo in the past with PEMSoft but this was our first trip training with DynaMed Plus.  The goal was to continue our relationship with the physicians at these two hospitals as well as to train at new hospitals including Hospital Nacional Arzobispo Loayza and Instituto Nacional de Salud del Niño.   We also had the opportunity to train at the local medical school, Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM) that supplies medical students to all of the hospitals listed already.  In total, the team led 4 trainings at Dos de Mayo, 1 training at Cayetano Heredia, 2 trainings at Loayza, 6 trainings at El Niño, 1 training at UNMSM and trained over 400 clinicians in the use of the web-based and mobile app versions of DynaMed Plus.

2017

Hospital:  Hospital Nacional Dos de Mayo (Lima, Peru), Hospital Santa Maria Del Socorro (Ica, Peru), Hospital IV Augusto Hernandez Mendoza (Ica, Peru), Hospital Regional De Ica (Ica, Peru)

Total Physicians Trained: 113

Dr. Eric Snoey and KCE Program Director, Bianca Maron conducted two days of training at Hospital Nacional Dos de Mayo in Lima, Peru.  The goal was to continue our relationship with the physicians at Dos de Mayo by reviewing the PEMSoft software and its new mobile features with previously trained and current users at the hospital.  The team also introduced the mobile app and web versions of the PEMSoft software to new physicians at three new hospitals in Ica, Peru which is 3 hours south of Lima.  In total the team led five group training sessions (three trainings in Ica and two trainings in Lima) and trained 113 clinicians in the use of the web-based and mobile app versions of PEMSoft.

2016

KidsCareEverywhere had an incredibly successful first trip to Peru. Trainings were conducted at two hospitals – Hospital Nacional Dos de Mayo, the oldest hospital in Lima, and Hospital Nacional Cayetano Heredia, one of the leading public health hospitals in the country. In total, 230 doctors were trained. Doctors from both locations were enthusiastic and eager to incorporate PEMSoft into their everyday practice. To facilitate this, KCE Global Health Fellow, Bianca Maron was left on the ground to continue training and coordination of PEMSoft into the hospital infrastructure. We look forward to continuing these important partnerships in Peru with a very competent and passionate base of doctors.

Dr. Ron Dieckmann led a team of 5 people to the National Hospital of Pediatrics in Hanoi and to a new hospital to KCE, the City Children's Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City.  The team conducted 6 trainings over two days in Hanoi and 2 trainings over two days in Ho Chi Minh City training a total of 230 physicians with DynaMed Plus.  The goal was to continue our long established partnership with the physicians at NHP by introducing them to the new software, DynaMed Plus.  This was our first trip training with DynaMed Plus and doctors were enthusiastic and eager to incorporate DMP into their everyday practice.

Dr. Monica McMillan and KCE Development Director, Ariel Herm, conducted three days of training at the National Hospital for Pediatrics (NHP) in Hanoi, Vietnam. The goal was to continue our long established partnership with physicians at NHP by reviewing the PEMSoft software and its new mobile features with previously trained and current users at the hospital. The team also introduced the mobile app and web versions of the PEMSoft software to new physicians at the hospital. The team led 6 group training sessions and taught 65 clinicians in the use of the web-based and mobile app versions of PEMSoft.

2014

Dr. Dieckmann led a group of 9 people to the National Hospital for Pediatrics in Hanoi, Vietnam. The goal was to introduce the mobile app version of PEMSoft. The team led 16 group training sessions and taught 120 clinicians in the use of the web-based and mobile app versions of PEMSoft. Learn more about the team’s work and EBSCO partnered to sponsor the KCE/EBSCO Global Health Fellowship to enable two Fellows (Mindy Le and Nneka Okeke) to work at NHP for 3 months. After the team left, the Fellows continued to provide access to PEMSoft and assess the acceptance of the mobile app. The Fellows described their activities and experiences in the KCE blog.

Dr. Ron Dieckmann, Dr. Michelle Lin, Jamie Sharp, Marlowe Dieckmann, and Hieu Do hosted three major training conferences for pediatricians in Northern and Central Coastal Vietnam. These conferences allowed KCE to reach more physicians in a time efficient, cost effective manner.
