Rock Wall Wine Company Bottles Zinfandel for World Health Charity KidsCareEverywhere
Rock Wall Wine Company formally announced a bottling of “World CitiZin”, a special wine crafted to support KidsCareEverywhere, a world health charity based in the Bay Area. The 2013 Rock Wall World CitiZin is an ancient vine Zinfandel that hails from a century-old vineyard located in Oakley, California. Proceeds from sale of this premium wine will support improved physician care for impoverished children in Africa, Asia and South America. The wine retails for $25 per bottle and can be purchased directly from the Rock Wall

“We are donating all profits from sales of this superb wine to support an organization doing high impact work for many years with sick children in some of the most difficult places in the world,” remarked Kent Rosenblum, CEO of Rock Wall. Kent, a veterinarian by formal training, has a keen interest in innovative health care technology. Kent is also a member of the Advisory Board of KidsCareEverywhere.
KidsCareEverywhere, founded in 2007 by Dr. Ron Dieckmann, Professor Emeritus of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine at UCSF, transforms pediatric care in impoverished countries by donating comprehensive, state-of-the-art medical software to public hospitals. Physicians and medical providers are also trained in software utilization. The medical software, called PEMSoft, is owned by EBSCO Health in Ipswich MA and is used extensively by physicians in major hospitals in the U.S., U.K., Australia and New Zealand. EBSCO donates this software to KidsCareEverywhere for use in impoverished countries, where access to current, scientific medical information is extremely limited.
KidsCareEverywhere will use the proceeds from the sale of Rock Wall “World CitiZin” to help fund trips to Colombia and Myanmar this year. “Rock Wall’s generous donation to KidsCareEverywhere from World CitiZin sales will greatly enhance our teams’ missions to these highly disadvantaged public systems,” added Denis McGuirk, KidsCareEverywhere treasurer. “There is always so much to do in all of our sites, as the needs are overwhelming. Our approach is empowerment of physicians, and arming them with usable, modern medical information goes a long way to healing sick kids.”
